From Tawau: Ferries link Tawau in the southeastern corner of Sabah , Malaysia with Nunukan's Tunon Taka port. Ticket costs RM 45 for one way. Several departures scheduled daily at 9:00am and 16:00pm. The ferries operating are M.V. Tawindo Express, M.V. Mid East Express, M.V Labuan Express, M.V Mega Express', M.V Nunukan Express, and M.V Purnama Express,M.V Francis Express. Time of sail arround one hour from Tawau to Nunukan .

When you see this type of vehicle ( Suzuki ) with yellow number tag in their front and rear bumper , that is the public transportation in Nunukan city , they called Taxi , you can mention your destination to the driver , inside the taxi is possible for the driver to take other passenger for other destination .

These small minibuses running a fairly standard route and picking up and dropping off passengers anywhere along the way.

You can get almost anywhere for IDR. 3.000.- , or for long destination you can bargain with the driver.
